Idofnib Uses

Idofnib 100 mg Capsule, an FDA-approved anti-cancer medicine, is used to treat idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (a lung disease caused by lung tissue becomes thick and stiff and eventually forming scar tissue within the lungs). It is also used to treat non-small cell lung cancer (may be given alone or in combination with other medicines).

The active ingredient of Idofnib 100 mg Capsule is "Nintedanib" which belongs to a class of medications called kinase inhibitors. It works by blocking the action of the abnormal protein that signals cancer cells to multiply. This helps to stop or slow the spread of cancer cells.

Method of administration

Idofnib is for oral use. Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. The capsules should be taken with food, swallowed whole with water, and should not be chewed or crushed.

Interaction with other medicinal products

Idofnib can interact with other medicines and health products. Ask your doctor before taking other drugs like aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), naproxen (Aleve), celecoxib (Celebrex), diclofenac, indomethacin, meloxicam, and others.

Fertility, pregnancy, and lactation

Nintedanib may cause fetal harm in humans. Women of childbearing potential should be advised to avoid becoming pregnant while receiving treatment with Idofnib and to use highly effective contraceptive methods at the initiation of, during, and at least 3 months after the last dose of Idofnib.

As nintedanib may cause fetal harm in humans, it must not be used during pregnancy. Female patients should be advised to notify their doctor or pharmacist if they become pregnant during therapy with Idofnib. Treatment must be discontinued If the patient becomes pregnant while receiving Idofnib.

There is no information on the excretion of nintedanib in human milk. As the risk to the newborns/infants cannot be excluded, hence breastfeeding should be discontinued during treatment with Ofev.

Note - Idofnib has a minor influence on the ability to drive and use machines. Patients should be advised to be cautious when driving or using machines during treatment.
